Several views, on grunge background, of Elgin Cathedral in Elgin, Moray, north-east Scotland. That historic ruin became a visitor attraction in the early 1800s. Dedicated to the Holy Trinity, established in 1224 on land granted by King Alexander II outside the burgh of Elgin, it was the principal church of the bishops of Moray. After the Protestant Reformation of 1560, it lost its roof, and its central tower fell later.
