The Eastern Tailed-Blue Cupido comyntas butterfly is a small, beautiful species of butterfly, belonging to the Family Lycaenidae. It has a distinct, mainly blue-tinged wingspan of approximately 1.5 to 2.5 cm, with small black spots and a prominent tail on the hindwing. Its upperwings are a mix of light blue and olive-green shades, depending on the season, and its undersides are pale gray with small dark spots and a dark stripe running along the hindwing's front margin. The Eastern Tailed-Blue Cupido comyntas is found primarily in the eastern United States and eastern Canada. This butterfly loves to feed on the nectar of a variety of flowers, such as clover, thistle, and common milkweed. It can be easily identified by its distinctive blue color and the presence of its small, dark spots and tails.
