The Bell 47 is a light, single-engine helicopter known for its bubble-like canopy, which made it the first helicopter to be certified for commercial use and the first mass-produced helicopter for the U.S. Army. It was developed in the 1940s and served in various roles, including training, agricultural spraying, and medical evacuation during the Korean War (as the H-13 Sioux). Many Bell 47s are still in use today. |
