The Ducasse de Mons is the biggest traditionnal event in Mons. During several days, the town is drown in an amazing and wonderful atmosphere where history, folklore are mixed to create a unique conviviality. Parade for the celebration called le doudou in Mons, Belgium. The celebration, which looks back on 500 years of history, has turned into a week long festival fuelled by music, madness and large amounts of the local brew. Officially it is called the Battle of Lumeçon but - as the locals have affectionately dubbed it - Le Doudou. Marching bands in medieval costumes, mounted police and dancing nuns are just a few of the spectacles in this carnival-like procession, that kicks off the day here in Mons
