Domaso is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 80 kilometres north of Milan and about 40 kilometres northeast of Como. Domaso is located in the so called 'Alto Lago', the most northern part of Lake Como. Domaso is an ancient town of Roman origins. The old village is located along the axis of the the Roman Regina Road. The facades of the houses are embellished with votive frescoes, stone portals and noble coats of arms. Steep lanes lead to the arcaded houses on the lake. For ages Domaso has maintained an economy based mainly on fishing before becoming an important tourist resort. Domaso is known for its beautiful beaches and the presence of constant winds, makes it a true paradise for lovers of windsurfing and other water sports. A splendid cycle-pedestrian path directly on the lake connects Domaso with the northern tip Lake Como, while to the south you can reach Gravedona.
