Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunc Soyer, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, TMMOB Chamber of Environmental Engineers, Izmir Medical Chamber, Izmir Bar Association, Turkish Bar Association that are opposed the dismantling, filed a lawsuit in Izmir Regional Court of Justice, which was requested at stopping execution. In the petition, it was emphasized that the dismantling process was against the Environmental Law, Radiation Safety Law, Basel Convention, Izmir Protocol, Rio Declaration and other international agreements. Before the lawsuit, a press release was held in front of Izmir Regional Courthouse with the participation of representatives of professional chambers, trade unions, bar associations and non-governmental organizations. Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunc Soyer, President of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations Erinc Sagkan, Izmir Bar Association President Ozkan Yucel, TMMOB Chairman of the Board Emin Koramaz, DISK President Arzu Çerkezoglu, Turkish Medical Association Central Committee Member Nursel Sahin and KESK Co-Chair Sükran Kablan Yesil made a press statement.
