Disking soil with a tractor in Central Russia in the spring season. Disking — the use of disc tools in particular, harrows and huskers for loosening the top layer of soil in agriculture. The disks can be placed in relation to the traction line at a different angle, which is called the `angle of attack` — its value depends on the depth of loosening and the quality of mixing and soil turnover. Disking is used both for the treatment of heavily blackened soils before plowing them to decompose the sod, and for the treatment of peatlands after plowing with a swamp plow, as well as in other cases. Disking is also used for the destruction of weeds, such as oatmeal, Wheatgrass and ostrich, for the care of crops of perennial grasses and alfalfa. When disking clean vapors in the dry period, there is a risk of wind erosion of the soil — in these cases, cultivation with flat-cutting tools is preferable. Disking is an important stage in the work of farmers in rural areas.
