The Meziad Cave is one of the longest caves in Romania (4,750 m long with several levels) being located in Bihor County on the Meziad Valley in the southeastern region of the Padurea Craiului Mountains and the western area of the Apuseni Mountains. Declared a natural monument, a speleological reserve, the cave has been intensively researched. The cave fauna (bats, butterflies, spiders, crustaceans, beetles) sheltered here and which gives the cave its uniqueness has been studied by scientists from various fields, has been and is being explored by speleologists and visited by those who reach the Bihor lands, in the commune Remetea.
