Derris elliptica or Poison Vine or Tuba is a wild, climbing, woody and convoluted liana in the family Fabaceae. The leaves are compound, pinnate in odd numbers and lanceolate to inverted oval. The young leaves are purplish brown and turn yellowish green to dark green as they mature. All parts of this plant contain toxins so that local people usually use it as a natural pesticide.
