Pictured is the information plaque for an oil on canvas painting titled 'The Day of the Eclipse The Spirits Journey' by John Thein on display inside the Lied Education for the Arts Building of Creighton University. The painting depicts the Wounded Knee Massacre which happened on December 29th, 1890. John Thein is an associate professor of Art who teaches drawing and printmaking in the Fine Art Department at Creighton University. He received his M.A. and M.F.A. in Printmaking from the University of Iowa. Over the span of his career, he has had more than 30 one-man exhibitions.
