Daniel Daianu (born August 30, 1952, Bucharest) is a romanian economist, Minister of Finance from 1997 to 1998, professor in the Department of International Relations and European Integration of the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) of Bucharest, member the Romanian Academy in 2001, president of the Romanian Economic Society (SOREC), member of the American Economic Association, member of the Romanian Academic Society. At the European elections in 2007 was elected the Liberal MEP. ÃÅ n after being elected by Parliament, resigned on December 23, 2007, the Supervisory Board of the Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR) to avoid any conflict of interest.
