Little Ringed Plover Charadrius dubius. It is a slender, long-winged and elegant plover. Its mask and breast band are black, and its eye ring is yellow. Its eyebrow is thin and white. It comes from both sides and meets at the top. Its beak is black and its legs are pale yellow. It is seen in sandy and pebbly lake shores and streams. It generally lives in freshwater areas, especially river islands and sandy shores of lakes, as well as slightly salty wetlands. It is seen inland as well as on the coasts in winter. It nests on the ground. It flaps its wings like a bat. It sings in flight. Unlike other plovers, it does not form flocks. It prefers insects, caterpillars, worms, and small reptiles as food.
