The Little Spiderhunter is called this because it resembles a banana and enjoys sucking the nectar of bananas. The genus Arachnothera is a genus of birds in the family Nectariniidae. This genus contains 11 species, living in the rainforests of South and Southeast Asia. Compared to other species in the family Nectariniidae, members of the genus Arachnothera are relatively large, have mainly greyish-brown feathers and long, cuarved bills. In addition to nectar, they also eat some small spiders (hence the name "spider hunters").
