A cruise ship on the Yangtze River under the shining glow of the sunrise passes Cuntan Port.
In the distance is the Cuntan Yangtze River Bridge. There are many cargo ships docked at Cuntan Port. Chongqing Cuntan Bonded Port Area is the only inland bonded port area in China that has the advantages of wide air transportation coverage and lower water and land transportation costs. It will become the highest level of tax logistics, the most favorable policies, and the most complete functions. The bonded port area with the most obvious location advantage has become a propeller for accelerating the opening of inland cities in the central and western regions.
Cuntan Yangtze River Bridge joins several other large Chongqing area Yangtze River suspension bridges that have significant height and great span length.
All of these Chongqing crossings are under the upper reaches of the giant 3 Gorges reservoir that raises the level of the Yangtze River by several dozen meters depending on the location. For the Cuntan Yangtze Bridge the normal water elevation of the Yangtze River is around 157 meters. During full pool, the 3 Gorges reservoir level is at 175 meters. The crown of the deck is at an elevation of approximately 267 meters.
