| Singapore - August 14, 2015: Lines of tombstones on the immaculately manicured slopes of the Kranji War Cemetery in Singapore near the Cross of Sacrifice which lies near the entrance to the memorial. The cemetery contains graves of over 5,000 soldiers from Commonwealth nations, including Pakistan, Australia, India, UK, etc. Almost 1,000 graves are of unknown soldiers. All soldiers died in the defense of Singapore during the Japanese invasion in World War Two. The cemetery is managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. |
