The Braila Danube Bridge is a suspended road bridge between the municipality of Braila (Braila County) and the village of Smârdan (Tulcea County) in Romania. After several postponements, the date on which the bridge over the Danube from Braila will be inaugurated was set for July 6, 2023. The contract was signed in January 2018, and the initial deadline for completion was 2021. Later, several deadlines were advanced, but they were not met. Braila is one of the oldest cities in Romania, for a long time it represented the most important port of the Romanian Country. Br?ila Port is one of the largest Romanian river-sea ports.
