A vacant multifamily apartment building in Detroit, Michigan`s North Corktown, or Briggs, neighborhood. The neighborhood has seen a great deal of new investment in recent years as a limited housing supply pushes up prices in the Corktown neighborhood to the south. Many vacant buildings have been torn down and the city of Detroit and/or the Detroit Land Bank Authority own about two thirds of the neighborhood by parcel volume. This property is near the Motor City Casino, owned by the aristocratic Ilitch family, who own a large number of vacant and deteriorated parcels in the central core of the city.
