Bosphorus is a very important transition passage between Mediterranean sea and Black sea. Also Istanbul is one of the biggest and central ports for sea trade. Almost all big and important container lines stop by Istanbul port and pass through the Bosphorus every day. Approximate number of ships passing Bosphorus is calculated between 40.000 and 50.000 every year.
