| The Confederation Bridge connecting New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island is 12,900 meters long (nearly 13 kilometers--about 8 miles). It's the longest bridge in Canada and the longest bridge in the world that spans ice-covered water. Its highest point is 60 meters above the Northumberland Strait. When my wife and I drove over it during our summer vacation of 2017, it took us about ten minutes--and what a view! |
