This exceptionally distinctive bird is the national bird of Israel. Additionally, in Persia, Common hoopoe represents the sign of virtue and in ancient Egypt this bird was well-regarded.
Hoopoes are colourful birds found across Afro-Eurasia, notable for their distinctive `crown` of feathers. Three living and one extinct species are recognized, though for many years all were lumped as a single speciesââ¬âUpupa epops. |
