| Shimen Reservoir is one of the main reservoirs in northern Taiwan. It is located in Shimen Canyon between Daxi District, Longtan District, Fuxing District of Taoyuan City and Guanxi Town, Hsinchu County. Shimen Reservoir used to be the largest reservoir in the Far East. It was built by quarrying an earth-rock embankment-type dam and intercepting the water of Dahan Stream. It is the first multi-functional reservoir in Taiwan. |
