European Turtle Dove Streptopelia turtur. It is a close relative of the dove. It is slightly smaller and darker than the dove. The wing coverts and shoulder feathers are gray in the middle. The edges are red. There are black wavy lines on the sides of the neck. It likes to be found in open areas and wooded or shrubby areas, steppes and semi-deserts, and especially in a wide variety of wooded areas with forest edges. It feeds on seeds and fruits of cereals and wild grasses. Unfortunately, their numbers are decreasing in the world. The biggest reason for this is habitat loss and intense hunting pressure.
