The Teatro Stabile di Genova, founded in 1951, is in fact the second permanent theater in Italy, after thePiccolo in Milan. Since the first seasons and especially since the 1960s, the theater has become one of the cornerstones of its city and of the national theater. Its first director was Nino Furia, flanked in the role of co-director or artistic director by Roberto Rebora, then by Camillo Pilotto and then byGiannino Galloni.
