| The only real clothingshop Peek & Cloppenburg is on Dam Square in Amsterdam. The monumental shop building in classicist style, designed by architect Anton J. Joling, was opened on 11 April 1917 and is the calling card of this clothing giant. No improvement of the Damplein was found at the time the `inanimate and gray structure` that was called `Het Broekenpaleis` for years. Now it is on the list of new national monuments. |
