Pictured is a closeup view of the right side of the face of the 1st pylon of the Mortuary Temple of Rameses III in Medinet Habu. Ramesses is smiting his enemies with help from Ra-Horus. The temple is the the main structure in the archaeological locality of Medinet Habu located at the foot of the Theban Hills on the West Bank of the Nile River opposite the modern city of Luxor, Egypt. It is famous for its more than 7,000 square meters of decoated wall reliefs. It is the best known source of inscribed reliefs depicting the advent and defeat of the Sea Peoples during the reign of Ramesses III in the important New Kingdom period.
