Pictured is Cloak Bridge of the Cesky Krumlov Castle on the bank of the Vltava River in the city of Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. This bold structure spans the deep ravine, artificially deepened in the Middle Ages, between Upper Castle and the 5th courtyard. The bridge was built in several stages from the late 17th century until the mid 18th century and replaced the original wooden footbridge. The Cesky Castle dates back to 1240 when the first castle was built by the Witigonen family, the main branch of the powerful Rosenberg family. In 1992 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
