The Carstic Ponorici-Cioclovina Complex is a protected area of national interest that corresponds to the IUCN category mixed nature reserve located in Grădiştea Muncelului-Cioclovina Natural Park. The natural area of 1.50 ha has a great paleological, speleological value, but also a floral, faunistic, landscape and scientific value. One of the greatest treasures discovered in the 20th century in Romania was discovered in the Cioclovina Cave. A treasure dating back to the first Iron Age Hallstatt, a warehouse containing over 6,000 bronze, amber, glass and faience items.
