Built in the early 17th century, is a wooden church, historic monument of MaramureÃâ¢, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its name comes from the fact that it is located on a hill, and is used to distinguish it from the Ieud Valley Church. In the attic of this church was found in 1921 the Codices from Ieud, a document that provoked controversy being considered by some historians the first Romanian writing.
