One of the very interesting, but less well-known monuments in the area of ??Kotor is the complex of the Church of St. Dujam in Å kaljar, on the plateau of the slope of Vrmac. Saint Dujam, surrounded by orchards and gardens, is the only preserved medieval landscape of the Kotor nobility. It was left to the ravages of time for decades and today the ruin is overgrown with greenery and, until recently, with little chance of being restored in the foreseeable future. However, the initiative coming from Split brings hope for this cultural monument. Namely, the municipality of Split, on the occasion of the great jubilee of the city and its patron saint Saint Duja, expressed its intention to restore the church of Saint Dujam in Å kaljari, which was accepted with approval in the diocese of Kotor. In this direction, Don Anton Belan reminds us of the age-old ties between the Diocese of Kotor and the Metropolitanate of Split, as well as Split and Kotor, and the recent restoration of ties between the two cities.
