Colorful Rock and Roll legend Chuck Berry is joined by daughter Ingrid Berry at a Rock and Roll Spectacular at the foot of Navy Pier during Chicagofest, on August 5, 1979. The St. Louis-born Berry, who made a contribution to Rhythm and Blues as well, was one of the first inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. Among his biggest hits were, `Maybelline,` `Johnnie B. Goode,` Roll over Beethoven, and Rock and Roll Music.` Berry was also dogged by controversy and spent short stints in prison for violation of the Mann Act and income tax evasion. He died at 90 in Missouri on March 18, 2017.
