Leaning against the walls of the Scaligero Castle, the church was initially a chapel that served the small community, the Captain and the twenty or so guards on duty. The building dates back to the mid-1300s. In the 15th century it was decorated with a cross vault and the frescoes of 1500, followed by various painters, seem more of a votive nature. In the seventeenth century a covered room with a barrel vault was built. In ancient times it was called Santa Maria del Ponte: in fact, a precious effigy of the Madonna and Child is venerated, painted on stone, which bears the Scaligeri coat of arms. Subsequently, but it is not possible to say exactly the exact period, it was called and still is the Church of Sant` Anna`. The very popular church of Sant`Anna is a place of meditation and prayer for many tourists and vacationers. Sirmione, Lago di Garda, Italy.
