| On the 7th of November, 2004 Hindu devotees celebrated Chhath festival at Kolkata, West Bengal, India like other parts in the whole country. Chhath is a festival about purity, devotion, and offering prayers to the sun god. It's also a time for community to come together, and to honor nature and the idea that everyone is equal in the eyes of God. The festival includes fasting, bathing in holy water, and offering prayers and prasada to the sun. Devotees also stand in water and perform a prostration march to the riverbanks. |
