This cherub is of one of the many sculptures lining the Pont Alexandre III bridge which spans the Seine River in Paris. The bridge was built between 1896 and 1900 and is known for its Art Nouveau lamps, cherubs and winged horses. Tsar Alexander III of Russia laid the foundation stone in October 1896. This bridge was inaugurated, like many other structures nearby, in 1900 for the Worldââ¬â¢s Fair. Images of the bridge and the scuptures lining the bridge are public domain. |
