Ripaille is situated on the delta of the Dranse river, which has proved to be a suitable site to grow the Chasselas grape variety. It is a named cru of the Vin de Savoie appellation of far eastern France, located on the banks of Lake Geneva. Most of this vineyard land is found on the countryside surrounding the Chateau de Ripaille, a historic castle that has housed Savoie royalty, Carthusian monks and wealthy industrialists alongside viticulture over the last 600 years.
