A rear view of the House and on the left the steps that lead down from the garden to the River Avon. Charlecote House was completed in 1558 by the first Sir Thomas Lucy and this house is still owned by the Lucy family. Charlecote House is about five miles from Stratford upon Avon and it is said William Shakespeare was caught poaching deer here in his early years.
