| Set in a quiet site near Bucharest, Cernica Monastery was mentioned in documents since 1608. Between 1818 and 1850, Saint Calinic from Cernica, the most representative figure of the religious world of the time, was nominated Father Superior. He was responsible for the construction of the most important building of the Cernica Monastery. At present, 84 monks live in the cell complex of the monastery. |
