Cathedral Saint Apostles Petru and Paul is an Orthodox church in Constanta, located in the peninsular city below Ovidiu Square, in front of the Archdiocese of Tomis. The building dominates the entire space architecture monumental city's southern waterfront. The cornerstone was laid on 4 September 1883 during Bishop Joseph Gheorghian. The consecration of the church was made ââ¬â¹Ã¢â¬â¹on 22 May 1895. Building Plans belonging famous architect Ion Mincu (1852-1912), greatly appreciated and considered the creator of a style inspired by Romanian tradition a the seventeenth century and the eighteenth century. The park surrounding the cathedral is an archaeological complex which identifies elements of the ancient city of Tomis.
