| Ulldecona Castle is a fortification located in Ulldecona in comarcacatalana of Montsiá, Spain. It was probably originally Arabic. In 1148, with the advancement of the Kingdom of Aragon to the south, the castle passed to the Montcada family, and in 1173 was transferred to the hospital order. Thereafter there were discussions between Montcada and hospital, which at various times held power over parts of the castle and the town of Ulldecona own. In 1266, finally, the Montcada family gave up their rights to such properties. |
