In Westmeath County, on two of the Loughcrew hills, called Witches Hops by the peasants – the jump of the witches, is an extensive excavation, consisting of three large chambers ass well as a narrow corridor that leads to them. Loughcrew is one of the four important sites of the Neolithic in Ireland, which claims to contain those known as corridor tombs. The other three are: The aforementioned site of Brú na Bóinne in the last two chapters, the other two are Carrowkeel and Carrowmore. -Which will be explored in later chapters- The Loughcrew site covers up to four summits: Carnbane East, Carnbane West, Carrickbrack and Patrickstown.
