The Carnac alignments are among the largest and most spectacular megalithic complexes in the world. They comprise about 3,000 monoliths, built 6,000 years ago, scattered throughout the Breton countryside. The most significant alignments are those in the Kermario, Kerlescan and Mènec areas. The site includes, among other things, the largest prehistoric menhir currently known, 20 meters long and weighing 300 tons.
