| The Mallard Duck (Anas platyrhynchos), or Mallard Duck in Canada, is a species of bird in the order Anseriformes, family Anatidae, and subfamily Anatinea. It is certainly the most well-known and recognizable of all ducks, due to the existence of domestic duck breeds derived from this species. Incubation, which lasts approximately 28 days, is entirely carried out by the female. From the moment they hatch, the ducklings are charming little balls of fluff. |
