This is a carved coat-of-arms of Canada that sits above the entrance to Fort York`s Armoury building in Toronto. British, French and native Canadian symbols adorn the coat of arms as well as the national motto in Latin: A Mari Usque Ad Mare which means `from sea to sea`. This phrase was taken from Psalm 72:8 in the Bible. The coat of arms is embossed on Canadian passports and can be found decorating many federal government buildings. |
