The region is home to one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world: thousands of 4000 year old cave dwellings, churches, ancient temples and hundreds of underground cities and tunnels are carved out of the regionââ¬â¢s volcanic rock. The rock formations were created by volcanic eruptions, erosion, and wind over the course of three million years. |
