| Holzmaar is a caldera lake near Gillenfeld in the Eifel. These lakes are called Maar and the area is know for the high density of these volcano lakes. Holzmaar is one of the least touristic ones, with just a path to walk around, no swimming in the nature reserve. In autumn the colors in the caldera change in different ways on sun and shadow sides around the crater lake, regionally called Maar. |
