The California brown pelican, Pelecanus occidentalis, is a migratory bird that is found along the Pacific coast from British Columbia, Canada down to Nayarit, Mexico, with their main breeding area being the Channel Islands off of Los Angeles, California. They start their migration south during the early part of winter. Flying against such deep fog, an entire cargo ship is totally lost in the backgroand. As seen off the coast of San Francisco 14 August 2024. |
