Long-legged Buzzard Buteo rufinus. Long legged buzzard. It is larger, has longer wings, a longer tail, longer legs and redder tones than the hawk (Buteo buteo). It is the bird species with the best maneuverability among the birds of prey, and when it dives, it reaches an excellent speed of 320 km h. Since it cannot breathe at this speed, it can close the valves in its nostrils. The main food of the red-legged hawk is small and medium-sized mammals. It feeds on small and medium-sized vertebrates such as field mice, ground squirrels, rabbits and also reptiles.
