Filmmaker/producer Bunny Ratner and Harry Ettinger, known as a “Monuments Man,” appeared at a screening of Ratner's short film, “I was There,” The Story of Harry Ettlinger---The Monuments Man,” at the Livingston (NJ) Public Library on March 27, 2014. The short film was followed by a lively discussion, q-and-a session. “The Monuments Men” became a critically-acclaimed film in 2014. Ettlinger, at 88, a New Jersey resident, is one of a handful still alive from the group charged with retrieving vast quantities of art stolen by the Nazis during World War 2. Ettlinger was a German refugee and served a vital role as an interpreter and translator in the project.
