| Located along Jalan Langgar in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. Al-Bukhary Mosque was financed by its namesake, Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary. The mosqueââ¬â¢s beauty encompasses both its exterior and interior. Its design was based on the mosques of Turkey and Iran. It has seven top-shaped blue domes with the main one featuring intricate Arabesque motifs, reminiscent of Uzbek madrasas in Samarkand. The five-layered main archway represents the five pillars of Islam. Within its beautiful compound, before its main entrance, is a stunning reflecting pool featuring Arabesque motifs. |
