| Pictured is a bronze memorial bust of Lieutenant José Antonio Mijares in Plaza Mijares in San Jose del Cabo. He was born in Santander, Spain, in 1819 and came to Mexico City and became a citizen of Mexico. He led the Mexican resistance force against the American garrison of San José del Cabo in the Battle of San José del Cabo where he was killed leading the assault. |
