| Three subspecies of Brachydiplax chalybea are currently recognized. B. c. flavovittata occurs in southern China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan, B. c. simalura is known from a few islands of the coast of Sumatra, the nominate subspecies is known from the rest of the range. |
